The practice has been a training practice for GP registrars since 2003, successfully passing several quality assessments to achieve this. GP Registrars are qualified doctors fully registered with the GMC who are completing their specialist training before becoming fully qualified GPs.
We also provide training for medical students, nurse practitioners, a paramedic practitioner, and physicians associate.
All colleagues in training are closely supervised by an experienced GP who is available to them at all times.
Occasionally, trainees need to be assessed through video and you may be asked if you would kindly participate.
Our practice nurses hold surgeries by appointment.
They have had extra training in areas such as family planning, taking smears and the management of diabetes and asthma.
Our practice management team can advise on administrative and non-medical matters, and will also discuss any suggestions to improve the service or any problems you may encounter.
All the receptionists may work at both sites.
The reception team are here to help you. They can advise you when the next available appointment is, whether you should see a doctor or a practice nurse, or whether there is an alternative to you attending the surgery eg advice from your local Pharmacist. Please don't hesitate to ask for help. In order that we can help you it may be necessary for us to ask for more information but please do remember that all our staff are bound by terms of the practice's Staff Code of Conduct in respect of confidentiality. The Department of Health require doctors' surgeries to report on the number of patients in doctors' surgeries who either smoke, do not smoke or have never smoked. We are also asked to collect information about patients' alcohol intake. On occasions you may be asked such questions by our reception staff.

The midwives provide care and advice throughout pregnancy and postnatally. They run parentcraft classes and antenatal clinics at both surgeries on a Monday afternoon and are available in and out of hours for advice.

District nurses attached to the practice work closely with the doctors providing home nursing care. They have access to equipment to make nursing at home easier for patient and carer.
We liaise with physiotherapists, community psychiatric nurses and school nurses.
