Our practice nurses hold surgeries by appointment.

They have had extra training in areas such as family planning, taking smears and the management of diabetes and asthma.

They can attend to:

  • contraceptive advice
  • blood and urine tests
  • HRT and contraceptive pill checks
  • blood pressure checks
  • minor injuries
  • ear syringing
  • travel vaccinations
  • immunisations
  • diabetic annual checks
  • chronic heart disease and asthma checks

The receptionist can help you decide whether it would be better to see the doctor or nurse.

It is sometimes possible to see the nurse sooner than the doctor and may be more appropriate.
