Appointments with the practice partners can be made up to 2 weeks in advance, appointments with other doctors can be made up to one week in advance.
During surgery opening times appointments can be made by telephone or at the surgery. We also offer an online booking service, you will need to register to use this, please click on the 'Online Services' tab or ask at reception for further information.
Please note if you register for online access without a registration letter from the practice you will need to bring TWO proofs of identity (one of which MUST be photographic) into the surgery and fill in an application form before your account is activated.
A full appointment system is used with a limited number of spaces reserved for emergencies and urgent problems. The receptionist may ask for brief details of your problem so that she can assess the urgency with which you need to be seen.
We will always ask if you wish to see a GP of your choice. If this is the case we will offer you the next available routine appointment with the named doctor. However, if you can be seen earlier we will offer you an appointment with another doctor.
Please tell the receptionist if the appointment is for more than one person.
If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else.
Please make home visit requests before 11.00am to help doctors plan each day. We will ask you for brief details of your problem to assess urgency, your address and phone number. The doctor may contact you to get further details, give advice, arrange to see you at the surgery or agree to a home visit.
We only visit people who are completely housebound or are terminally ill. This is because we can see four people at the surgery (where there are better facilities) in the time taken for a typical visit.
You do not require a doctor’s certificate for any illness lasting six days or less. Your employer may, however, require you to complete a self certification form SC1 which is available from your employer.
For any illness lasting longer than six days you will need to see the doctor for a sickness certificate (FM3) and for any subsequent renewal.
Please phone after 2.00pm for test results. To protect confidentiality, we will only give results to you personally (unless you have authorised us to release them to someone else)
